About us

We want Skjåk to be highly visible, and for the information people are looking for to be easily accessible.

It’s all happening online. Checking out attractive job opportunities, recreational activities, and the housing market. Could this be something for me? The sum of these impressions helps shape our decisions over time.

Choosing to move is a long-term decision that often involves more than just yourself. That’s why we’re here to help you explore Skjåk, inspire you, and nurture your dreams, both personal and professional. We want to support you in discovering why Skjåk might be the perfect place for you—throughout the year and for years to come.

Skjåk – naturally

Skjåk

Local food

Taste local and regionally sourced foods. Enjoy the flavor of vegetables that are sown and harvested locally, meat from animals that graze and roam freely in nature. Catch your own fish and gather what you want from the wild.

Support the local community

Tourism is an important source of income for many places. Be mindful of spending your money where it has the most positive impact on the community and the environment. Take advantage of local, sustainably sourced products and experiences, and you’ll help make a destination a better place to live and visit. Travel outside of peak seasons, explore places that haven’t been discovered by many, and, most importantly, travel slowly and enjoy your vacation.

Leave nature as you found it

The right of public access is proof of our high trust in everyone’s responsibility towards nature. Even though large parts of Skjåk consist of national parks and other protected areas, we have the opportunity to enjoy these outdoor spaces. Therefore, it is important that as a visitor, you always clean up after yourself and leave the area as you found it.
